Basses (and a few altos) in full voice at Messiah from Scratch (photo: Chris Christodoulou)   Sopranos at Messiah from Scratch (just a few of the 900 or so who took part).

TRBC are the largest choral society in the UK with 12,000 singing members.  They organise concerts on a grand scale at the Royal Albert Hall, choral holidays and cruises with singing on the high seas!

There are no auditions and anyone can book a ticket to go and sing.  For many concerts there are rehearsal workshops which are run in advance of the concert if you wish to learn to sing your part (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Base) with the conductor.

You can also learn your notes and rehearse at home using a ChoraLine Voice Part Recording with a Rehearsal CD or an EasyPlay (Stream & Download) and we have listed below the forthcoming events The Really Big Chorus (TRBC) have organised and shown links to the Vocal Score and ChoraLine specified for each concert:

FUTURE PLANS

Events not yet open for booking are listed below so you can reserve the dates in your diary.

20 May 2018: The Armed Man, Royal Albert Hall, with a supporting programme of music from the time of the First World War (Brian Kay conducts)
8 July 2018: Fauré’s Requiem, Royal Albert Hall, coupled with Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang (Bob Chilcott conducts)
3–6 December 2018: We have been invited to Vienna for a very special performance of Mozart’s Requiem at midnight in St Stephen’s Cathedral on 4 December; the concert coincides exactly with the anniversary of Mozart’s death at 1 o’clock in the early morning of 5 December. We will be directed by Gerald Wirth, conductor of the Vienna Boys’ Choir, and the trip will include a private tour of the Choir School as well as the opportunity to shop in the Christmas markets. Booking will open in September 2017, but pencil this unique experience into your diaries now.
